Our Four-Step Plumbing Process
Every Shield Plumbing job follows the same four steps: you tell us what you see, we find the cause, you get the plan and an estimate, then we fix it and test it with you.
- NC Plumbing License #37106
- Based in Landis, NC
- Residential & Commercial Plumbing

Tell us what you see
Call or email and describe the problem.
- Tell us where the water is and what it sounds or smells like.
- Let us know when it started and if it is getting worse.
- Mention if your home is on town sewer or a septic system.
We find the cause
A licensed plumber looks at the problem in person.
- We check the fixture or line you called about and what connects to it.
- We show you what we found, not just tell you.
- We explain why it failed, so you know how to avoid it next time.
Estimate before work
You get the plan and an estimate before any work starts.
- We explain your options, including the simplest fix that will work.
- We tell you if the job is likely to need a permit.
- You decide. Work starts only after you agree to it.
Fix and test
We make the repair and test it with you.
- We run water and check for leaks before we call it done.
- We clean up the work area.
- We tell you what to watch for next.
What We Will Not Do
No pushing extras
We recommend what your home needs and explain why. The choice stays with you.No work without a yes
The estimate comes first. Work starts only after you agree to it.No guessing
We look for the cause, so the same problem does not come back next month. No vague answers
We tell you what failed and what we did, so you know what you paid for.
Getting Ready for Your Visit
- Clear a path to the problem area, the water heater or the main shut-off.
- Note when the problem started and anything that makes it worse.
- Empty the cabinet under the sink if that is where we will work.
- Keep pets in another room while we work.
Questions About How We Work
Yes. Showing you the problem is part of our second step. We point out the worn part, the leak or the blocked section and explain what caused it. That way you understand the repair before you agree to it, and you know what to watch for afterward.
Yes. You get the plan and the estimate before any work starts, and the decision is yours. If there is a simpler fix that will work, we tell you about it. We would rather earn your next call than sell you work you do not need today.
Sometimes opening a wall or a line shows more than we could see at first. If that happens, we stop and show you what we found. We explain what it means for the plan and the estimate, and we only continue once you agree.
Ready to Get Started?
